Support at Home APD Reviews for Meal Providers
Learn about your obligation to conduct an annual review with an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, and how to book your review with Cookaborough's APD partner.

About Support at Home APD Reviews

Under the Support at Home program, all meal providers must complete an annual menu review by an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD).

The purpose of the review is to ensure meals are nutritious, appetising, and appropriate for older people.

Although no formal deadline is set in the government guidance, most Care Providers have requested that completion certificates be provided by 31 March 2026.

What to expect

The review will cover 10 meals or 10% of your menu (whichever is greater).

The Dietitian assesses your meals using the information contained within your Cookaborough recipe cards (including images, descriptions, ingredient lists, recipe yields, serving sizes, Nutrition Information Panels (NIPs), labelling, and allergen information).

To assess whether meals are appetising and suitable for older people, the Dietitian will also request meal samples or otherwise customer feedback for the meals being reviewed.

The assessment is conducted against the Australian Dietary Guidelines and the NHMRC Nutrient Reference Values, with consideration for the nutritional needs of older Australians.

After the review is complete, you will receive a certificate confirming compliance, along with a report containing helpful feedback and recommendations. This certificate should be provided to the Care Providers you work with as evidence of compliance.
