Learn about your obligation to conduct an annual review with an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, and how to book your review with Cookaborough's APD partner.

About Support at Home APD Reviews

Under the Support at Home (SaH) program, the federal government requires all meal providers to complete an annual menu review by an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD).

The purpose of the review is to ensure meals are nutritious, appetising, and appropriate for older people. As you onboard with Cookaborough you will need to successfully complete a review before you are able to publish a live menu for SaH customers.

What to expect

The review will cover 25% of your active meal menu, with a minimum of 10 meals assessed.

The Dietitian assesses your meals using the information contained within your Recipe Card, which includes ingredients and quantities, allergens, yield and serving sizes, images, descriptions, and Nutrition Information Panels (NIPs).To assess whether meals are suitably appetising for older people, the Dietitian will also request meal samples. In cases where meal samples cannot be sent, the Dietitian will request testimonials from customers detailing the meals submitted for review. The assessment is conducted against the Australian Dietary Guidelines and the NHMRC Nutrient Reference Values, with consideration for the nutritional needs of older Australians.Upon completing the review, if your meals comply with the above guidelines you will receive a Certificate, along with a report containing helpful feedback and recommendations. If your meals require corrective action the Dietitian will arrange for a review within a certain time frame.
