Sending messages to Customer Groups
Send messages to a particular group of customers

Customer Groups can help you send messages to a particular group of customers instead of your entire customer list.

For example, you could message:

  • Customers who haven't ordered recently
  • Loyal customers
  • Support at Home or NDIS customers
  • VIP customers
  • Wholesale customers
  • Any other Customer Group you've created

Before starting, you'll need to have your Customer Group set up.

Send a message to a Customer Group

There are two ways to send messages to your customer group.

Method 1:
Create your customer group and select “Send Message” from the actions dropdown

Method 2:
Go to Messages and select Create message.

1. Select your Customer Group

Choose the Customer Group you want to send your message to.

The customers included in this group will become the audience for your message.

2. Create your message

Write the message you want to send to the group.

Consider why you've created the group and make your message relevant to those customers.

For example, if you're messaging customers who haven't ordered recently, you might let them know what's currently available or include an offer to encourage them to order again.

3. Choose when to send it

Once your message is ready, you can:

  • Send it immediately
  • Schedule it to send later

Review your message and audience before sending or scheduling it.

Send a message after creating a Smart group

When you create a Smart group, Cookaborough will show you a confirmation once it has been saved.

Select Group message to start creating a message for the new group straight away.

Or select Done if you're not ready to message the group yet. You can use the group when creating a message later.

Choosing the right audience

Customer Groups can help you make your messages more relevant to the people receiving them.

For example:

  • Re-engage customers
    • Create a Smart group for customers who haven't ordered recently and let them know about your latest menu or an offer.
  • Contact a particular type of customer
    • Use a Smart group to identify customers based on information such as customer type, care provider or application status.
  • Contact a selected list of customers
    • Use a manual group when you want to choose exactly who should receive the message.

Before sending your message

Always check the group before sending or scheduling your message.

For a Smart group, review the filters and customer count.

For a manual group, check the customer list.

👆Remember that Smart groups automatically update as customers start or stop matching the group's rules. This means the customers included in a Smart group may change over time.

Once you're happy with the group and your message, you're ready to send.
